March update: new TechChill CEO, X-Europe for deeptech startups and more

With TechChill 2020 a month ago we thought it’s a great time to give you an update to what we have planned for the upcoming months and the year! First things first, we are excited to share the news in TechChill leadership team – Madara Ermansone has taken the role of CEO of TechChill and will drive the planning, execution and all things TechChill 2021!

Madara joined the team for TechChill 2019 as Partnership Manager, was promoted to COO for TechChill 2020 and now will use her experience and knowledge to succeed as the CEO of the organization! Alongside the new CEO, we also have a new CMO – Anna Marija Ķiesnere, who was leading Communication for TechChill 2020.

Ernests Štāls has taken a new challenge and joined Superhero Capital as a Venture Partner. TechChill family couldn’t be happier and we all wish him the best of luck! Ernests still remains an active TechChill board member alongside Andris K. BērziņšMarija Ručevska and Līva Pērkone!

Hacking the crisis with HackForce hackathon

The first virtual hackathon in Latvia HackForce took place last week. In 48 hours over 850 people from 25 countries joined the public Slack, 70 mentors helped the teams to succeed and all that to find solutions for the crisis caused by the coronavirus. Thanks to the extensive support and help, hackathon ideas are already being implemented in real life! Hackathon was organised by volunteers form Latvian startup community.
