Sustainability is the innovation challenge of our times. With digitalization left in the shadows, the next wave for innovation, and perhaps the most important, is innovation as the path to sustainable business. However, not all innovations can be created in-house or by the enterprise alone. Looking outside of the organization for extra forces is often a powerful force towards growth and development.
To support the development of such innovations that offer sustainable solutions, together with the open innovation catalyst Helve, Swedbank Latvija created accelerator Future Hub. This is the first open innovation accelerator in the Baltics and was designed to enable local enterprises to collaborate with leading European GreenTech startups. Five market-leading Baltic companies – Swedbank Latvija, Latvenergo, Rimi Baltic Group, Orkla Latvija, and Riga City Council joined the program in March, each presenting a business sustainability challenge. The Helve team selected the best startup solutions for cooperation with these companies. Ten best European GreenTech startups were chosen out of 160 startups from 40 countries worldwide.
Now, Future Hub celebrates the end of its first program with Demo Day on May 19! The event is both streamed on Facebook and hosted on TechChill 2021 Founder Stage!
