The most inspiring tech, startup, and entrepreneurship event in the Baltics invites all tech enthusiasts to discover something special in Riga. The two-day event will host three different stages, each with a particular focus, but all having one thing in common – to inspire, encourage and embolden entrepreneurs for their next step forward.
The common theme for our programme this year are founders as superheroes: starting out with a mission, building teams, overcoming challenges and facing villains, both from outside and from within. Look out for the Founder Stories keynotes on the Superhero Stage from both experienced founders such as Rovio/Slush alum Peter Vesterbacka and Renaud Visage from Eventbrite to up-and-coming success stories like Revolut, Wolt, Taxify, Drive.ai and more. And while superheroes are on a mission, it’s all about the people who make it happen, the ones who execute, support and mentor. Our Experts will discuss cooperation with corporations, building ecosystems and culture that promotes innovation, what the future of technology holds in store for us and how to use tech to make life better for everyone. Don’t miss Angie Jones of Twitter telling the story of the legendary fail whale, Dean Johnson with a magic show of Human 2.0, and Viola Llewellyn on how the technology works for democracy.
But it wouldn’t be superhero story without facing our Villains, both from the outside and from within. Entrepreneurship and tech do not come without its risks and issues, and to move forward, we need to face them. Y-Vonne Hutchinson will talk about diversity and empathetic tech, we’ll aim to separate fake news from real news in a panel with leading tech media, and we’ll do some serious cybersecurity talk with the keynote from “The Ethical Hacker” Ralph Echemendia on hacking – from Hollywood to Russia. The agenda will also take a hard look at the role of Investors and VC’s, how startups can get funding, what is the best way to get into an accelerator and the future of ICO’s.
The Founder Stage, in turn, will give the stage to 50 bright and talented early and seed level startup founders to give their best pitch off to an audience of global investors and media, competing for the winning prize of 10 000 euros from TechChill. Look out for workshops and keynotes with useful advice on building culture, entering new markets, pitching to angel investors, ICO’s and more. On day 2, we’ll go on a deep dive in specific industries, talking satisfied clients in e-commerce, the future of gaming, the opportunities of blockchain in payments, virtual reality and the hard things about hardware.
